Take a deep breath and imagine yourself….
:: Skillfully handling the stressors that come your way with measured responses instead of impulsive reactions
:: Being happier and more optimistic
:: Being able to focus on what you want when you want, and tuning out distractions
:: Sleeping better, feeling better, and being healthier
:: Having stronger relationships with others and being kinder to yourself
:: and living with a lot less stress and anxiety…
You may be thinking this sounds too good to be true. You may be thinking that life is supposed to be chaotic and crazy-making, and all the stress and overwhelm is just the price you pay for having a full life.
But what if that’s actually part of our problem?
What if there was a way to DO THE IMPORTANT THINGS WE NEED TO DO EACH DAY AND FEEL AT EASE AND CALM AND PEACEFUL while we do them?
Well, guess what? There IS a way... and I am excited to share it with you.
Let me tell you a little about my journey with mindfulness...
Years ago, as a new mother struggling with then-undiagnosed PostPartum Depression, I figured the stress and overwhelm and misery were, well, normal. I figured I could “fake it ‘till I make it,” power through…. and some day, things would get better.
But the things didn’t get better.
What finally DID make things better was GETTING HELP.
And one thing my doctor recommended I do was practice mindfulness.
At first, I thought she was crazy. I have ALLTHETHINGS I have to do and now you want me to find time to DO NOTHING on top of all of this???
But I tried it. And continued trying it.
And OMG IT WAS LIFE-CHANGING.
That doesn't mean there weren't problems...
I had my struggles with:
* being quite certain I was doing it wrong
* resisting the temptation to skip meditating "just this one time because I'm really busy..."
* dealing with ALL THE THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS that kept popping up in my head
* feeling uncomfortable or bored or restless or sleepy every time I tried to meditate
Perhaps you’ve downloaded some meditation apps, or found some cool meditations on YouTube, but it doesn't seem to be working. Because, as helpful as they can be, they can't provide you with a lot of support. A super soothing voice on your phone isn’t going to be able to hold you accountable for practicing, or guide you when problems begin to arise.
You're here because you want to get to the peace and calm and stillness and quiet promised by meditation … but you’re realizing this simple practice isn’t always EASY.
You’re ready to live in a way that feels EASE-full and intentional. You’re ready to stop overreacting to the little things and start nurturing the important and positive BIG things in your life.
There are LOTS of ways we can cultivate self-growth and awareness, but the one that I have found to be COMPLETELY LIFE-CHANGING IS MINDFULNESS.
Once I started practicing mindfulness consistently, I found the peace and stillness I had been seeking. I could laugh and play and do the stuff I loved with pure joyfulness, AND deal with the difficulties with greater ease.
Mindfulness was so transformative for me I dedicated myself to studying it, and I even completed a 300-hour year-long training program to become a certified mindfulness instructor. I reached a point where I was ready to make THIS -- sharing the gift of mindfulness with others -- my life’s work.
In the last three years, I’ve taught mindfulness to thousands of people, and I can help you too.
Whenever we commit to something new, whether it's an exercise program or a diet or meditation, our new habit is vulnerable.
If we don't have support and guidance, and a deep understanding of how this new practice will be woven into the fabric of our lives, meditation can easily become something we only do "when we feel like it."
But meditation isn't a "use in case of emergency" practice. If our practice is intermittent, infrequent, or nonexistent, we won't really see any benefit from it. We'll still flip out over the things we know we don't need to flip out over, our stress will build, we'll get caught up in all the busy-ness, and we'll go right back to being overwhelmed, living on auto-pilot, and missing out on our own life!
I don't want that to be your experience!!
I want to help you make your mindfulness practice an "all-weather system," something you can do consistently, no matter what might try to pull you away from it.
Because when we make time for mindfulness and meditation, THINGS JUST GO A WHOLE LOT BETTER IN OUR LIVES!
*new to mindfulness, and want to start your practice with a strong commitment and LOTS of support
*looking to restart your practice with a loving and supportive community
*interested in a deep-dive into mindfulness practice
